Trendsetters Apparel YBOR - Retail Spotlight

by Ray Figgs

Trendsetters Apparel started with the owner Zach selling kicks out the trunk of his car in 2012. Zach was able to get kicks by hitting up his homeboys, barber shops, Ebay and the local flea markets and pretty much anywhere he could catch a sale.  After he connected with a few local streetwear shops in the area, they started putting him on with product to sell.  Zach was able to build a steady customer base and a following of people that saw him grinding hard.  This all lead to meeting the right people and putting his mind to opening a boutique for the people that wanted something different than what the mall has to offer.
If you live in Tampa or anywhere in the surrounding area, you know Ybor is the spot to go party.  7th Ave. is the main strip where you can find bars, clubs, tattoo shops, restaurants and other businesses that are open til 3am for the party crowd.  One thing the city has been lacking for years now is retail shops.  There is a heavy load of foot traffic especially with the University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community College, and USF right around the corner.

Since Trendsetters opening they've gotten nothing but love from the city. Trendsetters carries a wide variety of8&9 clothing and it moves fast, so don't sleep! Swing by and tell them we sent you if you're in the area, or just take a trip and see what all the hype is about.
