8&9 Eats: Harlem Tavern NYC

by Marino M

Over the years Harlem has become increasingly popular and with that attention new restaurants and classic joints have been getting flooded with new and consistent business. On Fredrick Douglas Blvd, a few blocks from Central Park enter Harlem Tavern. A gastropub/restaurant that serves as an ideal place to throw an event, watch the game, or grab a quick bit. The place offers a good variety of food and beer options and even boasts live entertainment on select nights.
We started with the Coconut Shrimp and Flamed Grilled Skewers which were both delicious, garnished and plated nicely. The main courses were a Mac and Cheese with extra cheese, Spicy Lamb Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, and the Roasted Brick Chicken.
The food was great and I stress the importance of presentation and this place nails it. We were also treated with a performance by a duo of a singer and a Dj/Drummer it was pretty dope. This is a spot you should most definitely try if you're ever in Harlem.
